Bachelor’s in Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering

The "Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering" major of Beijing Institute of Technology originated from the "Optical Instrument Design and Manufacturing" undergraduate major established in 1953, as well as the "Night Vision Technology" established in 1959 and the "Optoelectronic Technology" established in 1963. "Laser Technology" undergraduate major, and also began to recruit graduate students in related majors. After the reform and opening up, in order to expand the professional scope, "night vision technology" and "laser technology" were changed to "photoelectric imaging technology" and "optoelectronic technology" respectively. When the State Education Commission adjusted the catalog of undergraduate majors in 1998, the above undergraduate majors were adjusted to " "Electronic Science and Technology (Optoelectronics)" was adjusted to "Optoelectronic Information Engineering" in 2010, and in 2013 it was adjusted to "Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering" according to the professional catalog of the Ministry of Education.
