About the Programme
BA (Hons) Business Management (Dual Degrees) (4+0)
The overarching aim of the design for this course is that it is specialism-centric, academically challenging, and provides a stimulating student experience. Through the systematic study of business management theories and methods, combined with business practice training, this major excavates students' leadership ability, expands students' international vision, enables students to actively deal with the management decision-making problems in the international complex business environment, and carries out students' career planning, improves students' career competitiveness, and cultivates students with modern management basic theory, knowledge and skills, and understanding ability Economy, management, good management, namely with business quality and ability, but also with engineering talents strong logical thinking and hands-on ability of "industry and commerce" combined compound.
The design of the Business Management offer is built around students studying core business modules from Year 1 to Year 4. It is aligned to professional bodies such as the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Where relevant, all modules will optimize professional accreditation.
The Business Management degree offered by the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) and Sheffield Hallam University at SBC are ideal for students wishing to advance their knowledge, skills and career prospects in business management and achieve further career or academic development in a bilingual environment. The emphasis of this programme is on developing practical skills and business understanding, alongside academic knowledge whilst equipping students the Chinese learning courses and core modules taught in Chinese to help the students have a unique bilingual study experience in Shanghai, but most of the courses and core modules are still taught in English. Teaching through projects and case studies related to real-life organizations and scenarios improves employability. There is a focus on skills much needed in business organizations such as problem-solving, decision making, negotiation, research and project management. The course facilitates students:
Master the basic theories and knowledge of management, economics, organizational behavior, marketing, statistics, human resource management, strategic management and operation management;
Have the basic ability to analyze and solve practical problems by using business administration theory;
Understand the theoretical frontier and development trend of Business Administration major, master the basic methods of scientific and technological literature and data query, and have the ability of scientific research;
Self-confident, creative and effective in teamwork;
Have independent learning and cognitive skills of critical thinking, analysis and synthesis;
Master the research methods of business organization and market, and can use quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to solve practical problems of business organization;
Proficient in English, with high ability to listen, speak, read and write;

Tuition fee: 80,000 CNY / per academic year.
Age Requirements:
Applicants must normally be 17 years old by the 31st December in the year that they start the SBC year 1 (International Foundation Year). The applicants who are 16 may be accepted in exceptional cases but such students will have limited progression options. Students under 16 shall also submit the original notarized certificate of guardianship issued by the Shanghai Notary Office and the original and photocopy of the valid identity certificate of the guardian.
Academic Requirements:
GCSE/IGCSE: Successful completion of 5 modules, including Maths and English, with a grade of 4 or above. (CCCCC for pre-2017 students); IB: 22 points; For entry requirements of the foundation year entry from your own country please contact us for more details.
English language requirements:
IELTS 5.0 (with each component not less than 4.5); TOEFL iBT 35 points; Or one of the other equivalent English language qualifications.
Chinese Language Requirements:
Needs to have passed HSK3 or above.
