
The Internet of Things Engineering major aims to meet the talent training needs of national strategic emerging industries and is constructed based on the first-level disciplines of computer science and technology. In July 2010, Beijing Institute of Technology stood out from nearly 700 universities across the country that applied for the "Internet of Things Engineering" major, and was officially approved by the Ministry of Education. It became one of the first 30 universities in the country to set up the undergraduate major of "Internet of Things Engineering". . In September 2011, the undergraduate program of Internet of Things Engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology officially enrolled students. Currently, about 30 students are enrolled every year, all of whom participate in the Outstanding Engineer Program.
