IMPORTANT NOTE: Students with Chinese nationality can not apply to XJTLU as foreign students, even if they were born outside China. Students with Chinese nationality need to pass the National College Entrance Examination (NCEE), also known as Gaokao, in order to get into a university in China.
Overview
The BEng Electronic Science and Technology programme offers you a thorough foundation in semiconductor microelectronics, electronic engineering and photonics.
The programme will enable you to study the complex working processes of electronic devices as well as the technology of integrated circuit (IC) design and manufacturing.
You will learn to operate at cutting-edge or emerging technologies and be prepared to work in a field with multiple career opportunities due to a worldwide shortage of graduates and engineers.
Why should I study Electronic Science and Technology at XJTLU?
Strong focus on microelectronics and photonics
Use state-of-the-art equipments and tools for developing integrated circuit (IC) design, IC fabrication and application in electronic systems
Have access to five well-equipped cleanrooms to apply knowledge learnt in class and from books
Study an IC design module, with hands-on learning using appropriate software, which is unique among Chinese universities
Earn two degrees: an XJTLU degree from the Chinese Ministry of Education and a globally-recognised degree from the University of Liverpool, a member of the Russell Group of leading UK universities
Knowledge and skills
By the time you graduate from the BEng Electronic Science and Technology programme, you will have:
extensive experience in modelling and analytical methods
the ability to design an electronic or optoelectronic system, component or process based on initial requirements and constraints
the skills to use IT tools and computer-aided design (CAD) systems for modelling, analysis, simulation and design
the ability to design and fabricate integrated circuit chips or optoelectronic or photonic devices.
Careers
Graduates of this programme will be well-prepared for positions in the fields of semiconductor technology, integrated circuit (IC) design, electronic engineering and photonics. The programme will also provide a sound foundation for further studies at master's and PhD degree levels in microelectronics, integrated circuits, electronics and photonics, semiconductor physics, advanced electronic materials.
